How to Use ThriveCart with Showit to Sell Products

Share:

One of the top questions I get from creative business owners is: “How do I actually sell products on my Showit site?”

Totally fair becuase while Showit is perfect for design, it doesn’t come with built-in ecommerce. The good news? You don’t need a complicated setup. I always recommend ThriveCart: it takes care of checkout and payments while your Showit site stays clean and gorgeous.

And if you’re using my Shop Kit template, you’re already halfway there — the shop grid, product pages, and Add to Cart buttons are all intentionally designed for you. All that’s left is adding your product images, descriptions, and linking those buttons to your ThriveCart checkout pages.

This guide walks you through exactly how to do it — no tech stress required.

Step 1: Set Up ThriveCart & Connect Payments

If you haven’t already:

  1. Create a ThriveCart account (choose the plan that fits your needs — Standard or Pro).
  2. Inside ThriveCart, connect your payment processors: Stripe and/or PayPal. This makes sure your checkout pages can securely take payments.
  3. If you sell digital products to the EU or UK, set up VAT collection in ThriveCart under your tax settings.

That’s it — you’re ready to add products.

Step 2: Add Your Products in ThriveCart

For each product you want to sell:

  1. Go to Products → Create Product.
  2. Choose the product type (digital, physical, or service).
  3. Fill in the basics:
    • Product name (this shows on your checkout page)
    • Pricing (one-time, subscription, or payment plan)
    • Currency (make sure this matches how you market your products)
    • Delivery (link to a file, thank-you page, or email integration if it’s digital)
  4. Customize your checkout page. You can add your logo, change colors, and keep the style close to your Showit brand design for consistency.
  5. Save the product.

Step 3: Grab Your Product Checkout Link

This is the most important part because it’s the link that connects your Showit buttons to your ThriveCart checkout.

  1. In your ThriveCart dashboard, go to Products and click on the product you just created.
  2. At the top right, click Get URL (sometimes shown as “Get Checkout Link”).
  3. Copy the link — it will look something like: https://yourbrand.thrivecart.com/product-name/

That’s the link you’ll use for the “Buy Now” or “Add to Cart” button on your Showit product page (or Shop Grid page).

Step 4: Link ThriveCart to Your Showit Template

Here’s where the Shop Kit template makes your life easy. The product and shop pages are already designed — you just need to add your product images, descriptions, and connect the buttons.

  1. Open the Showit editor.
  2. Go to the product page (you can duplicate the product template page for as many products as you need and organize them in folders).
  3. Click on the Add to Cart button.
  4. In the right side panel, under Click Actions → Link, select URL.
  5. Paste the ThriveCart checkout link you copied.

That’s it! Your button now takes customers straight to the correct ThriveCart checkout page.

Repeat this for each product by grabbing its unique checkout link from ThriveCart.

If you’ve added “Add to Cart” buttons on your main Shop Grid or anywhere else you’re showcasing products on your site, just use the same steps to link those buttons to your ThriveCart checkout pages too.

Step 5: Test Before You Launch

Never skip testing. Here’s what to do:

  • Preview your Showit site and click on each product’s “Add to Cart” button.
  • Make sure it takes you to the right ThriveCart checkout page.
  • In ThriveCart, enable Test Mode and run through a purchase (or create a discount code so you can test at a lower price).
  • Check that your confirmation page, email delivery, or file access works exactly as you want it to.

Step 6: Go Live & Start Selling

Once you’ve tested everything, publish your Showit site. ThriveCart handles the payments securely, and Showit makes your shop pages look beautiful. Together, you get the best of both worlds: a fully designed shop experience without the headache of managing a clunky e-commerce plugin.

Final Thoughts

Setting up your shop doesn’t have to feel like a tech nightmare. By pairing Showit with ThriveCart, you can keep your storefront sleek and on-brand, while letting ThriveCart handle the heavy lifting of checkout and payments.

If you don’t already have a shop design, my Shop Kit template was built to make this whole process seamless. You just add your content, duplicate your product pages, drop in your ThriveCart checkout links, and you’re ready to sell.

✨ Pro Tip: Don’t forget to test on mobile — most of your buyers will be checking out from their phones.
